In October 1993, it was Drew Barrymore that surprised the world as the new "GUESS Girl." Photographed in Salton Sea, California and South Beach, Florida by Wayne Maser, the then 18 year old Drew was already an accomplished actress who had descended from one of America's greatest theatrical families. Bedecked in GUESS apparel, Drew possessed a mysterious, sensuous, provocative style with young and innocent undertones, appealing to a very hip 'Generation X' consumer.

Chosen as the new "GUESS girl" by Paul Marciano, president and creative director for GUESS, Barrymore describes modeling for GUESS as "a dream come true." At 5'4" and 98 pounds, her glamour-grunge look set her apart from other GUESS models* such as Claudia Schiffer, Carre Otis and Anna Nicole Smith.

A successful actress since childhood, Drew Barrymore has been captivating movie-going audiences for nearly two decades. At age six, on an audition for Poltergeist, Drew landed a role in what would become one of the most popular films in movie history, Steven Spielberg's E.T. The Extraterrestrial. Since that time her unique talent and on-screen charisma have earned her worldwide acclaim as well as starring roles in over a dozen features. Drew can be seen starring in the Woody Allen ensemble, Everyone Says I Love You, which also features Edward Norton, Tim Roth, Alan Alda, Julia Roberts and Goldie Hawn. Drew also stars in the ensemble scary thriller Scream, directed by Wes Craven and featuring Courtney Cox, Neve Campbell, and Skeet Urlich. Both films were released this past December by Miramax Films. Drew is currently filming the Warner Bros. romantic comedy Home Fires, for director Dean Parisot. This film is set for release this fall.

Although acting is her passion, Drew has recently expanded her involvement in the film industry by starting her own production company, Flower Films. Flower Films is currently developing several feature films including Like A Lady, for Miramax, and the Flower Films and Fine Line production of All She Wanted, with direction by Gary Fleder.

A dedicated philanthropist, Barrymore often donates her time and resources to a number of charities. She recently participated in several public service announcements for the Rock the Vote campaign encouraging young people to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming presidential election. Drew is also serving as a spokesperson for the non-profit Female Health Foundation. As spokesperson, Drew is working to draw attention to the foundation's current campaign to increase awareness about the growing need for safe-sex and condom use. Other organizations that Drew is actively involved with include The Wildlife Waystation, and the Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
