The Disney Channel can add one more pop star success to the list that already includes the likes of Britney Spears, Keri Russell along with J.C. and Justin from N'SYNC.
Born December 18, 1980 in Staten Island, New York, Christina Aguilera is a veteran performer, entertaining people at the age of 8 on the syndicated television show "Star Search." Disappointingly, Christina did not win on "Star Search" but instead kept her head up high and looked upon the performance as a learning experience. Christina and her family traveled the world living for a time in Japan and Florida then settling in Wexford, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh. At the age of ten Christina was invited to sing the National Anthem for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, and at the ripe old age of twelve she landed a spot on the "New Mickey Mouse Club" based in Florida.

After two years of performing on the "New Mickey Mouse Club" Christina traveled half way around the world to live and tour Japan. Selling out shows in Japan, the young pop star also toured Europe almost causing a riot among 10,000 fans in Romania. On this tour Christina was on the same bill as the likes of such legends as Sheryl Crow and Diana Ross.

In 1988, back in the states, Christina was asked to record the song "Reflection" for the Disney animated movie Mulan. Before flying our to LA, the demo was recorded on her karaoke machine in her living room and FedExed to the executives in Disney. They loved it and less then one week RCA Records signed later Christina to a record contract. "Reflection" earned Christina a Golden Globe Nomination for best original song in a motion picture.
Christina Aguilera's debut album has shot up the charts since its release over the summer. The first single, "Genie In A Bottle," has captured the ears of thousands of teenager around the world. Hollywood has also been knocking on Christina's door, but this pop singer is going to stay with singing for now.

In Christina's climb up the entertainment ladder of success, this debut CD signifies another huge step up. Look for the second CD to be as fun and dynamic as the first and also keep your VCRs set for one of Christina's many television appearances.
