The man with two names, Calvert DeForest and Larry 'Bud' Melman, are one and the same. The nationally known pitchman and co-star to David Letterman has been called "one of the wittiest and funniest characters today." His face and laugh are loved by millions of fans.

Discovered by David Letterman in 1982, Calvert, looks back at the surprise call with fondness. "One day I get a phone call from Dave's production office to come up and meet Dave. I thought it was a joke, but Letterman persisted." DeForest states. Dave sent a messenger with a script and finally sent a limo over to pick him up and get him to the studio on time. That very night, Dave put him in front of the cameras and Calvert stepped into history opening the first "Late Night" show in September '82.

On The Late Show With David Letterman, Calvert has portrayed hundreds of different characters as David Letterman's foil and side kick for the last 14 years. Even in the goofiest skits, Calvert comes off as a real person with a heart. Over the last decade Calvert has portrayed: Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond, Madonna, Don Johnson, Bob Dole and over a hundred other personas. His favorite moments include: Ask Mr. Melman, Toast-on-a-stick, the nefarious Central American Tour and the handing out of towels at the NYC Port Authority Bus Terminal.

WOODSTOCK GENERATION. Cal has unquestionably become something of a pop-culture icon. Calvert's renown with the Rock 'n Roll, Hip Hop and Country audiences make him a huge hit at promotional events around the country.

Cheap Advice (Warner Books) was Calvert's first published humor book. It has been hailed as possibly the "best bathroom book of all time." It contains priceless advice on everything from how to dress for success to strip bar etiquette. His upcoming tome will be more reflective and feature elements of his real life story.

In addition to his record breaking appearances on the "Late Show with David Letterman", Calvert with the help of his manager, Brian Cury, has established himself as one of the nation's most recognizable faces. His 1-800-COLLECT spots as well as his Frosted Cheerios and Pizza Hut commercials keep the viewers laughing.
